These kiddos heard that it is Spring and they are only thinking about wearing swimsuits and going outside barefoot! We journaled about it today. With a little help, they wrote their stories.
It's been a while since we brought out our hand bells and made some music together. The children enjoy the start and stop of the ringing with the group. Then we read some color coded music and played some familiar tunes. I introduced 10 frames to the group and we noticed that there were 10 squares to each frame. We learned about a story problem and how we need to listen to the story to get the answer. The stories we read were about animals and we had little animals to go with each story to give us a visual manipulative to count one-to-one and solve the problem. These kiddos are so dang smart! Asher playing his bell!!
Making the pizza. The children found some treasures on our walk. We decided we needed to find out what was inside of these balls so we got an appropriate tool and discovered. Coloring paper hanging under the table!
“Children have neither past nor future; they enjoy the present, which very few of us do.” ~Jean de la Bruyere
The children were given the task of finding our shapes throughout the room. Some of them were pretty challenging. Counting with glass hexagons.
We are loving our study of rock n roll! Today we visited our neighbor Holly's house to see a real live jukebox in action! We pressed a button to pick a song and watched the player move to the record, pick it up and begin to play. Then we danced until the record was over and watched it do the whole process over again. So cool!!

Shannon Davis- Family Child Care provider"Family child care is not babysitting. It's not comparable to any child care center. It's families, in relationships with a professional care provider in an environment that becomes, by design, a second home and a whole bunch of people partnering, trusting, caring and educating each other."
