We had a fabulous time outside in the warmth! Okay. These are a bit creepy. But my goodness did we laugh this afternoon when trying out these photo filters! Show then to your kiddos and I guarantee they will be giggling with you all over again!

We have been exploring seeds and plants and talking about what has started to grow outside. We walked the neighborhood recording what we see growing. We also made collages of what we would like in our gardens!
This morning we danced to a song about Spring while pretending to be the breeze outside. We read some stories about gardens and seeds. Then we used chop sticks to do some seed math and sorting.
We were so lucky to have Ada's mom Asli come and join us to talk about the Turkish celebration today called Children's Holiday. She showed us some beautiful pictures of Turkey. Then she showed us pictures of when she was a kid celebrating Children's Holiday as well. There is dancing and singing and the children take over important adult jobs for the day including being the president! We even sampled some Turkish crackers. They were delicious!
There is a new subdivision going up within walking distance to our house! We will be supervising all Summer!
The children all loved the water beads that were added to our sensory table! It was our own ocean to go along with Carmen's Earth Day theme. Earth Day book composing. Flower pot emptying.
Carmen is continuing to prepare the children for the activities they will be doing during her lead teaching day. This morning they were painting flowers, pots and watering bottles. Lots of time and concentration was shown from he children. I have a large dog that is staying with us for a few days! I don't allow the dogs we sit to be with the children but they can see them through the door! Asher was absolutely mesmerized by Happy! Super cool! Helicopters flew right by us! They were so loud!

Shannon Davis- Family Child Care provider"Family child care is not babysitting. It's not comparable to any child care center. It's families, in relationships with a professional care provider in an environment that becomes, by design, a second home and a whole bunch of people partnering, trusting, caring and educating each other."
