Our timing with hatching our chicks didn't work so well for including Luke and Theo. So, last night we picked up a few chicks from the store so they could experience the little feathery friends. It was so much fun! Meet Elsa (yellow), Zuma (orange), and Batman (black).

Being a good storyteller is a key skill in becoming a good writer. We practice storytelling by taking turns as the story rock holder. When it is your turn to hold the rock, everyone else in quiet and listens as you build on the story of the person before you. As you can imagine, our stories get pretty silly and tend to circle back on themselves but we all look forward to story rock time. ![]() One of our favorite gross games is Ned's Head! We had a big crew here today to help Stanley celebrate his 3rd birthday! It was one of the oddest days weather wise. It was a perfect day to be in swimsuits however since it sprinkled, poured, hailed, then was hot and sunny, followed by a downpour again!
If ever your children aren't eating as much as you wish or they just need some excitement for a meal, give them some chop sticks!
![]() We had something very exciting happen today! The Seniors from our high school were driving around our neighborhood and the whole city honking and waving out of their cars! The children got a great view from the climber and we screamed and clapped for them. So exciting! Bob the squirrel returned for some breakfast today and we were giggling at how he was teasing Bucky through the window. Oh Bob! Sewing sisters!
We sure hope those babies flew out of the nest before the rain knocked it out of the deck rafters! We took a walk over to the marsh to see the new baby crane! It is so cute and so tiny. It is a little puff ball that only stands as tall as its parents knees. Feather art. Egg and spoon game competitors.
Today was egg candling day. We checked to see which of the eggs on our incubator have babies growing inside. 7 of 12! See those veins? This is a good one! Then we discussed that store eggs are for eating and don’t have chicks inside. We cracked them open and saw the different parts of an egg. Then we ate scrambled eggs!

Shannon Davis- Family Child Care provider"Family child care is not babysitting. It's not comparable to any child care center. It's families, in relationships with a professional care provider in an environment that becomes, by design, a second home and a whole bunch of people partnering, trusting, caring and educating each other."
