Tomorrow we will be changing out our sensory table so we made sure to fill up all of our bird feeders with the bird seed that is currently in the table. These two mamas had their babies in slings as they went about their days.
We kicked off the Week of the Young Child by taking our oldest members to the Overture Center Rotunda and listening to Ken Loonquist. It was silly to be with so many other kiddos and hear so many of his very silly songs! We grabbed a little lunch and headed home to tell our younger members about it.
Oh man the children have been dying to have a picnic. Today was tte first of many. This last weekend we had a load of dirt delivered for our yard. We put the excess into the garden to pull out later. The children were excited to see it as a gravel pit with construction!
We added some new animal minis to our loose piece play area. As a group we found which block had the letter for each animal name to be their house.
Hayley created a science extension for our egg unit. She laid out plates of different things like sand, rice, feathers, rocks, toy cars, etc. The children took turns guessing if the hard boiled egg would crack when dropped on the different plates. Then they did the drops and followed up with determining if their guesses were correct.

Shannon Davis- Family Child Care provider"Family child care is not babysitting. It's not comparable to any child care center. It's families, in relationships with a professional care provider in an environment that becomes, by design, a second home and a whole bunch of people partnering, trusting, caring and educating each other."
