We have read and learned about how special owl's wings are! They have very light feathers that allows them to fly silently. We played Hoot Owl Hoot! We had to get the baby owls to their next before sunrise!

Learning about this magnificent animal has been a lot of fun! There are so many wonderful questions that have been asked. We can hear the "g" sound in the beginning of it's name, just like Gabriella. Today we looked at the little g. A circle, then a tail!
We have just inherited a great horned owl! Don't worry, he is no longer alive. He was hit by a car and died some time ago but he is stuffed and preserved so that we can learn more about owls and what they look like up close. We discovered the feathers are very soft, the talons are very sharp and the beak is just perfect for killing and eating mice. These little peg boards are great for working on fine motor muscles. We pushed the pegs in then used our finger tips to push them the rest of the way.
We sure do love when former Dragonflies come back to hang out with us. Verona did not have school today so we got to hang with Luke!
It's super slippery in the yard with all of our melting and freezing. We worked together to help our littlest friends get around and find what they could do to stay on their feet!
The Dragonflies were full of love for their friends today! A little game of "put the glasses on the llama!" Candy heart sorting and graphing. Pass the gorilla around the circle while the music is playing but if you have him when the music stops, you are out. We played this lots of times! The highly anticipated Valentine hand out. Heart lunch!

Shannon Davis- Family Child Care provider"Family child care is not babysitting. It's not comparable to any child care center. It's families, in relationships with a professional care provider in an environment that becomes, by design, a second home and a whole bunch of people partnering, trusting, caring and educating each other."
