I froze some animals in ice earlier in the week and today the children worked to get them out using hot water, medicine syringes and pipettes. Great fine motor work that keeps children engaged for a really long time!

What an amazing party! It was wonderful to have such a beautiful evening for everyone to gather and celebrate our outgoing Dragonflies and welcome our incoming! Thanks to all for helping with the food. It amazes me how we all just happen upon each other and our group continues to grow and intertwine with each year. It’s never good-bye just until we see you again!
This week our oldest friends are visiting the schools they will be attending next year. First stop was Lucy’s school!
Each child has their photo that they add to our heart to see who is here today. Using loose parts to create. Lucy charted who chose what type of shirt today.
Rubber band designs. “What is that beep beep?” We found it! A bobcat working on some landscaping. Sound sorting.
Rocket balloons were flying around our yard today! The look on the children’s faces as they were letting them go was awesome! A mix of eagerness and apprehension.

Shannon Davis- Family Child Care provider"Family child care is not babysitting. It's not comparable to any child care center. It's families, in relationships with a professional care provider in an environment that becomes, by design, a second home and a whole bunch of people partnering, trusting, caring and educating each other."
