Stanley has been working on going to the dentist. So of course we had to talk about brushing our teeth!
A shop vacuum set to blow, an exhaust tube and hundreds of plastic balls! This was hours of fun! We especially loved filling the tube with the balls first and then blowing them out the end. By writing names and letters on the balls this activity also becomes a literacy project! "Find your name!"
Loose parts. That is child care lingo for pieces with open-ended purpose. That is child lingo for "what can we make believe with these things?" And make believe they did! For almost an hour. Music with zithers and ukulele.
"Shannon we need a plane!" So here is our plane flying to all sorts of fun destinations! Some passengers in the back seats are a little wild! Seeing the best in others actions. That was a lesson in one of our books this morning. The lead character wore heard shaped glasses to think about why a friend may be doing something that is seen as mean or disrespectful. And we brainstormed some situations that we experience where a friend's actions my be seen another way.
Here's a fun project to do outside with the kiddos! When you combine soft snow and sidewalk chalk you get rainbow snow! It was very beautiful and added lot of color to our play!

Shannon Davis- Family Child Care provider"Family child care is not babysitting. It's not comparable to any child care center. It's families, in relationships with a professional care provider in an environment that becomes, by design, a second home and a whole bunch of people partnering, trusting, caring and educating each other."
