We loved learning about bats and what special mammals they are! Stanley especially loves the vampire bats! We learned they are nocturnal and Theo listed off many other animals that would be out at night as well. Our favorite thing about bats is that they eat mosquitos!
We had some amazing giggles as we observed and experimented with the Autumn winds this morning. I loved how the children thought to throw leaves into the air to see if they would fly. Also some of the leaves we found were as big as our heads! Spider math! We sorted, categorized, counted and determined most and least.
The children have been asking to make Halloween decorations every day. We are getting creative with what to make and what materials to use.
Hudson and I had some time to spare together while waiting for a grandma pickup so we got an updated selfie! We are loving seeing ourselves in the camera! Theo asked if we could makes some more scary Halloween decorations. We studied what the bones look like in our bodies and constructed some skeletons using q-tips for the bones.
We saw a huge crane from our backyard so we had to check it out. There were two houses being built across the street from each other. One house had a crane lifting trusses and the other had a pumper truck pumping concrete for a basement.
We also needed to document some of our favorite Halloween decorations to show mommies and daddies. And Theo found a frog. |
Shannon Davis- Family Child Care provider"Family child care is not babysitting. It's not comparable to any child care center. It's families, in relationships with a professional care provider in an environment that becomes, by design, a second home and a whole bunch of people partnering, trusting, caring and educating each other."
