Every year we take a day to learn about Hanukkah and the traditions that children participate in. Today we lit one candle on the menorah and learned from our book that each evening those that celebrate Hanukkah light another candle. We also listened to the Dreidel Song and learned how to spin the dreidel to determine what to do with our gold coins.
While we were out exploring our snow plow came through. The driver was awesome! He stopped in front of us and lifted up the different plows. Then on the way by he stopped so we could watch the spinner that shoots out salt. One honk and he was on his way again! Thanks for keeping us safe!
One of our favorite snow activities is climbing the snow "mountains" after the plow comes through the school parking lot.
We have two Dad's who are architects and the children have been listening. I asked if they could build some magna tile structures so they sat down and drew "plans" for their buildings before getting started. The children were washing our dollhouse people and animals this morning. When we started our walk it wasn't snowing and when we returned home it felt like we were in a snow globe! Beautiful.

Shannon Davis- Family Child Care provider"Family child care is not babysitting. It's not comparable to any child care center. It's families, in relationships with a professional care provider in an environment that becomes, by design, a second home and a whole bunch of people partnering, trusting, caring and educating each other."
