![]() I asked Asher what was something special that he wanted to do for his last day at my school. He wanted to go dig! So dig we did! We visited one of our favorite playgrounds where they have a wooded area that we visit. There is an old tire that we discovered and worked on digging out for a bit. It's been there a long time so we decided that the playground would be more fun. These little guys had their morning nap and lunch. As the older children layed down to rest we decided to try a wagon ride. So beautiful and so fun! Their eyes were looking everywhere as we traveled. We got out to play ball for a bit as well.

We are entering another week of transition. Last week we welcomed new friends and still had old friends. We were excited to party and also hot from outside play. So much anticipation! This week has a slower vibe. Our baby friends are starting to adjust and have a calmness to their play. Our last graduate will be leaving tomorrow. We move to a slower beat if you will. Although I love to move and be active, I also love the slower pace and seeing things in the stillness. It's a new season for our group both in our relationships and also in our recognizing the approaching change in our Earth.
Friday fun day! Today was a party day we look forward to every year, graduation day! We celebrated Luke, Wesley and Asher! So many years of exploring and learning with these fellas. Off to bigger and better things!
Thanks to Theo and Eli’s aunt Ri Ri who identified that we found a Katydid on our walk today! It was beautiful and could fly very far once it said good-bye to us. Morning walk adventures.
This is our transition week where our littles are getting adjusted and our big kids are leaving. It's always so exciting but also tough. This year we say good-bye to three of our leaders, Wesley, Luke and Asher. And we welcome Hudson, Eli and Beckett. Friday we will celebrate with a graduation party. I will be sure to get as many hugs as I'm allowed this week.
This is a week where I reflect back on my relationships with each of the graduates and am so thankful for my job and the ability to form lifelong friendships with these families. The children are ready. They begin to show us and tell us that they are curious, excited and eager for what is next. And we are ready to support them and encourage them on their journey. I wish everyone well this week, especially those with children transitioning to or from school. I also am thinking of all of our teacher parents heading back to another year of unknowns. You are our heros. These guys did a great job of wearing their masks today! With the county mask mandate going into effect today everyone age 2 and up is required/encouraged to wear a mask depending on where they are. We don't have to wear them outside or while eating and sleeping. And we are helping our older friends prepare for their big kid schools. Nice job! Name writing. These guys are really starting to recognize letters and especially pointing out when they share letters with another friend's name.
Hello all! What a crazy busy week it has been! Sorry for the lack of cute, adorable kiddo pics. Between moving my own son to college and getting all of our new kiddos in for visits and paper work completed every minute of the day has been filled. Good news is we are starting to get the to-do list in a more manageable place and are so super excited for the changes we will be seeing in the next few weeks.
Today we counted 14 days on our calendar until Wesley, Luke and Asher start their new schools! We produced a little music of our own using our stick. And, we enjoyed some outside water play! Another example of the beauty of multi-age groups. Wesley, who is going to kindergarten in a few weeks, was working on some writing. His one-year-old buddy Claire came over and observed. Then she got out her own markers and imitated him. ![]() Lily was feeding her baby at the table. Claire supervised to make sure she was doing it right. |
Shannon Davis- Family Child Care provider"Family child care is not babysitting. It's not comparable to any child care center. It's families, in relationships with a professional care provider in an environment that becomes, by design, a second home and a whole bunch of people partnering, trusting, caring and educating each other."
