We stubbled upon a big red tractor and it had an attachment on the bqck to spread straw for seeding. Asher was telling me about the tube on the side. There were four of these giant tires on the back.
We spent the entire morning outside soaking up the warmth and sunshine! We even had breakfast outside!!
We have been watching these Sandhill Cranes for the last few weeks. A neighbor shared that they saw a baby this last weekend so we went out on an adventure to see what we could find. We did not see the baby but we did see mom and dad walking about. We also visited the baby birds living in my mailbox!
There is a special day right about now in the country of Turkey where they celebrate a day called Children’s Day. Ada’s Mom Asli is so kind to come in and teach us a little about the celebration and what it is like in the country she grew up in. She even bring us little tea biscuits and juice to snack on! Here she is showing us all of our names and how they would be pronounced in Turkish. After our snack we headed out to play!
Lucy is our writer and drawer. She is always making a story for someone. Gabriella is observing and following right along, perching herself at the art table. We talked about sequencing and story boards today. I showed the children how instead of a book where we turn the page to see what happens next, we can make a series of squares on one page to show.a sequence of events. They loved this idea and got busy making their own stories.
We noticed the sky getting very dark this morning. We listened to the thunder and watched for the lightening. . Then the rain came and it came hard. After every good rain storm there are puddles and we went looking for them.

Shannon Davis- Family Child Care provider"Family child care is not babysitting. It's not comparable to any child care center. It's families, in relationships with a professional care provider in an environment that becomes, by design, a second home and a whole bunch of people partnering, trusting, caring and educating each other."
