This morning I put out a sheet, some seating and a basket of books. All 8 kiddos can to check it out and explore the books.
The daycare children love when Owen and Colby come down to visit. This morning mom was at an appointment so Colby came down to help. Gabriella right away wanted his attention so she asked for some help getting dressed up. So sweet. These ladies love learning letters and numbers and how to make them. Harlow commented that the beginning lines of making a 5 looks like you are starting a square. Ada told me that the letter D is challenging for her but that today she made a perfect one! And Lucy noticed a W is really two V’s put together.
Yesterday we heard dump trucks going back and forth on our street so we had to check it out. They were making the road to the water tower so we tried it out. This led us to another field with a huge dirt pile that we had to explore and run our fingers through. So much sensory work in a short adventure!
We added a chalk board so we can draw horizontal on the ground or vertical on the fence. It’s kind of tough to tell from our picture but we added glitter to our sandbox today. The children were oooing and ahhhing and running it through their fingers.

Shannon Davis- Family Child Care provider"Family child care is not babysitting. It's not comparable to any child care center. It's families, in relationships with a professional care provider in an environment that becomes, by design, a second home and a whole bunch of people partnering, trusting, caring and educating each other."
