The kids allowed me to accompany them on their walk. They didn't need me. It won't be long and we will all be mobile! We have been learning how changing just the beginning letter of a word can create many new words. The "it" combination has been especially fun because there has been lots of pit tickling!
We also took a look at Gabriella's name and she has 9 letters! The most of our group! They noticed the little g and the little q are tricky since they look so much alike so we were exploring how they are made. This morning Olivia brought her new sister in for show And tell! We are already in love! She will be joining us in the summer.
This is a phrase that you will frequently hear in the field of Early Childhood. What it definitely is not is a cookie cutter project where all children take home the same thing. Everyone’s would be the same and there would be little creativity used. What it is is the opportunity for children to use materials in the way they would like to create what they would like. Often times projects start as one thing and change to another as the little ideas begin to flow. Today was a great process art day. We had a large sheet of paper and paint and the children. Took off!! Sorry neighbors! If you leave this amazing leaf pile in the road, it is screaming for some of the cutest little ladies to walk through it. Don’t worry! We pushed the leaves back in the pile when we were done!
I attended the Wisconsin Early Choldhood Association’s (WECA) conference this last weekend up in the Wisconsin Dells. I love meeting new people and getting new ideas of things to add to our environment here at Let the Dragons Fly.

Shannon Davis- Family Child Care provider"Family child care is not babysitting. It's not comparable to any child care center. It's families, in relationships with a professional care provider in an environment that becomes, by design, a second home and a whole bunch of people partnering, trusting, caring and educating each other."
