The Dragonfly salon was open for business today! H wanted a hair cut. L did his make up. The Amaryllis is up to 35 blocks tall today! We noticed it leans toward the window, looking for some sunshine!

We were playing some peek-a-boo and when she pulled the blanket off of my face, I saw these big, beautiful eyes!
Pink everything for Deb! The children loved the smiley cupcakes she brought, complete with cotton candy hair.
We enjoy these little bins of objects with a letter each item starts with. I enjoy hearing the children help each other sound out the items and determine what is the correct bin. Reading to the baby!
As we prepare for conferences, we are working on many skills that help us determine growth and progress in some mathematics skills. These bears got a workout today as we determined which were bigger, smaller, which patterns we could repeat, how many were in a group, which color had more or less, etc. The children then made a group that represented their family composition.
So many skills getting practiced here! Each tag bag has a type of closer to open, including velcro, snaps, buttons, hooks, and tucks. Once inside, there was a number, and we counted out that number of pieces of stinky cheese to correspond.
It has been over 6 weeks since we planted our Amaryllis bulb, and I had all but given up on it, but when I checked on it last night we had growth! We started with a plant that was 8 cubes high, and today, we measured 14 cubes high! It will really shoot up now so we are keeping it close!
After a very strange week last week of snow days and sickness, all 6 kiddos were finally back together! We had a very busy morning inside, staying nice and warm and catching up with each other.
We were loving all of the new snow today! This was taken on the "snow mountain" by the school so it's a little muddy but we loved the climbing.
The children were lined up on their boat, jumping into the ocean and swimming with penguins, seals, sharks and whales! We enjoyed some new games this morning.

Shannon Davis- Family Child Care provider"Family child care is not babysitting. It's not comparable to any child care center. It's families, in relationships with a professional care provider in an environment that becomes, by design, a second home and a whole bunch of people partnering, trusting, caring and educating each other."
