Owen joined us in making some glue into slime. The children loved the sticky, cool feel of it and rolling and cutting Tiny all the way up to big!
We read Goodnight Gorilla this morning and then threw out a bunch of keys, similar to what the zookeeper uses to open the cages of the critters. Every one of our friends joined in on making a key chain. Some even made some patterns! Frog hunting. Gabriella was so gentle with Mr. Charlie.
Welcome back everyone! We had so many friends gone on vacation last week and we really missed them! There were lots of hugs and catching up to do.
it was so wonderful to have Norah and Josie visit today! Norah has graduated from kindergarten and showed us what are good reader she is by leading circle time! Fantastic!! Who is that cute baby??? Olivia always asks for the puppies to come down.
Our friend Gabriella is starting to open up and enjoy playing with her friends a little more. She is moving around the room, getting to things to explore. We are even seeing peeks of smiles! The big kids danced with our suits on! They love these and how they feel when you push against the inside.
Symmetrical. It’s a really tough word but a new one we explored today. Piper made a structure that was completely symmetric. When I pointed out how I could cut it in half and it would look the same on each side, she challenged me to add to it and continue to make it symmetrical. We also read a story about the Five a Little Monkeys and their task of making a birthday cake for their mama. They were reading a recipe and all trying to help but the got I. Trouble as usual in their stories. We read a page about adding eggs. The recipe called for 4 eggs but each of.m 4 monkeys grabbed some eggs for a total of 10! That was trouble. The children all began telling me how the monkeys could make the correct amount for the recipe. “One monkey should get all four!” “Each of the monkeys should just take one!” “They got 6 too many!” It was so great to hear all of the math language that was going through their heads.
We just started this game up. It’s quickly become a favorite of ours. The best is when a friend says “Simon says...” and takes so long to say the motion that they forgot they said “Simon says and they think they fooled everyone! Oh man!

Shannon Davis- Family Child Care provider"Family child care is not babysitting. It's not comparable to any child care center. It's families, in relationships with a professional care provider in an environment that becomes, by design, a second home and a whole bunch of people partnering, trusting, caring and educating each other."
