Our amaryllis continues to grow. We are up to 21 cubes! After we finished measuring we used the cubes to create patterns. Piper wanted to try and create a pattern to cover the length of the table! The children all took clip boards outside to do some scientific drawing of what they found interesting. We saw birds, cars, mailboxes, and much more!

We had to go and investigate the new machines at the end of our road. Looks like some tree cutting equipment has been delivered! Wesley went from sitting to laying on his tummy and wasn't upset! This is big news! He even smiled about it! When you want to draw the Batman image but you can't see it well on your shirt, you take off the shirt!
We still have candy hearts left over from our Valentines celebration so we used them to form the letters in our names. The children covered the lines and curves that we use to make letters. Henry decided to make a pattern on his H. Of course we followed up with enjoying a few of the candies.
Today the children were heading to work! They set up spaces to be their offices complete with computers, phones, clipboards, and even beverages. It's great to hear them speak about what happens when you are working in an office. Ayden told us he just goes to boring meetings. Henry told me he was working for hospitals, like his Mom and Dad.
When the temperatures begin to rise and the winter begins to thaw, there are lots of changes to explore! We walked over by the marsh this morning and discovered that we could walk way out by where the long grasses usually are in the summer. We could get right up to the water line and see the bubbles moving below where the ice has begun to melt. Henry told his friends about frogs and how they were sleeping under the ice and Piper quickly added that fish do the same. Olivia lay down on her belly and touched the ice to see if it was still hard. We spotted fresh tracks made by some sort of bird. The animals are beginning to return.
To celebrate Friday we made some awesome rocks! We glued on eyes, hair, clothes, etc. Then we built homes for our rocks and gave them rides in trains and cars. They were busy little guys.
We taught our student teacher, Hayley, the Tap Tap song using rhythm sticks. Costumes on for the performance of "Little Red Riding Hood."

Shannon Davis- Family Child Care provider"Family child care is not babysitting. It's not comparable to any child care center. It's families, in relationships with a professional care provider in an environment that becomes, by design, a second home and a whole bunch of people partnering, trusting, caring and educating each other."
