It's hard to tell from the picture but these two were completely soaked! If there is water to be played with, they will end up the most wet! Today they were sitting in the water table to get "wet booties!"

The school children are finally out of school which means we get to use their playground again! We walked over with Colby and Owen and had such a great time! Everyone is able to conquer all of the big climbers. We had a pretty solid Connect 4 tournament today!
What fun we had experimenting with different ways of moving water. First the children used buckets and schools and then we tried tubes and funnels. Chop stick eating!
We have got lots of caped crusaders in our house today! Also with this rainy day, lots of construction was happening with our Tinker Toys.
Each child should come home with a little stick doll for storytelling. We were having lots of fun acting out different activities the dolls were going to do. Last week the children used a rainbow of available colors to create a painting. Today I pulled out those paintings and let them know that the paint they used was called puffy paint. We had to turn the oven on and "cook" their paintings! This was exciting! The paint didn't turn out quite as great as we had anticipated but the process was exciting!
We read a book today called Seven Blind Mice. It was about seven mice who couldn't see but rather were trying to figure out what something was by feeling it. It turned out that they were feeling a great big elephant but each part individually felt like something different. We practiced what it would be like to be blind. Deb covered the children's eyes as I handed them an object and they had to feel it and try to figure out what it was. They were awesome at this game!
We had some colored putty donated to our group that was different holiday themes. We had white snowman putty, orange pumpkin putty and green witch putty. It was just the right resistance for working the children's little hands and fingers. They also loved how it "melted" when they set it on the table.
Doga has been so excited to share his Pokeman game with his friends. He tries his hardest to try and explain the rules and moves to his friends and seems to enjoy having them so interested. |
Shannon Davis- Family Child Care provider"Family child care is not babysitting. It's not comparable to any child care center. It's families, in relationships with a professional care provider in an environment that becomes, by design, a second home and a whole bunch of people partnering, trusting, caring and educating each other."
