Lots of wind and rain today so we threw on a children’s yoga show about animas in the ocean. Yep think our favorite pose was the shark pose! We made some cookies. Two batches. One for children with milk and/or egg allergies and one for the children without allergies. They both were delicious!
It’s never dull around here! We were out playing and heard the sirens coming up our street. Of course we had to go investigate. The police officer told us they had a gas leak on the construction site but got it contained. We got super awesome police officer stickers out of the deal!
This morning I took the older children to the Overture Center to experience a music show by the children’s entertainer Stuart Stotts. He was incredible! The children were up dancing and singing the whole hour! We even saw Josie, Luke and Theo.
There is always that time each spring where our next group of littles learns to go up in the climber! At first it is so hard to not tell them to keep on the ground to be safe, but I know that when they decide they can do it and they are physically able, that I must shadow them but let them do it! Gabriella and Stanley both got up enough courage today! They were climbing the ladder, enjoying a break in the chairs, then going down the slide on my lap.
Every year we hatch our own chickens and we are already 10 days into our 21 day incubation with this years flock! We examined the colors of the eggs and even candled a few to see how the chicks are growing. You can see in the egg there is a very light spot which is the air pocket. Then the medium colored middle is the space with the food and room to grow. The dark upper part is where the chick is so far. As the chick grows, the light and medium spaces will get darker. We will begin to see the chick moving and see the black eyes through the shell. It’s an exciting time of growth right now.

Shannon Davis- Family Child Care provider"Family child care is not babysitting. It's not comparable to any child care center. It's families, in relationships with a professional care provider in an environment that becomes, by design, a second home and a whole bunch of people partnering, trusting, caring and educating each other."
